Announcing: Celsus Software

Two Manufacturing Software Companies Merge to Form Celsus Software: What It Means for Your Shop Floor

If you’ve spent any time in manufacturing, you know the frustration of disconnected systems. Your maintenance team is working out of one platform, your machine monitoring data lives somewhere else, and leadership is left piecing together spreadsheets to understand what’s actually driving downtime or eating into margins. That gap is exactly what the newly formed Celsus Software is built to close.

Celsus Software combines decades of manufacturing experience

Celsus Software brings together two products that have independently served manufacturers for a combined 80+ years:

  • FactoryWiz, a machine monitoring and CNC communications platform
  • MaintiMizer, one of the industry’s original Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

FactoryWiz was built by Refresh Your Memory, Inc. (RYM), a company that has been in the CNC machinery communications space since 1983, back when “direct numerical control” meant running machinery from a Commodore computer instead of paper tape. By 2008, RYM had parlayed that deep CNC expertise into a modern, web-based machine monitoring system. Today, hundreds of factories worldwide use FactoryWiz daily to manage part program transmission and gather real-time monitoring data for productivity improvement.

MaintiMizer has an equally long track record. First deployed in 1985, it was one of the earliest CMMS platforms in existence, founded on the premise that computers could, and should, make maintenance management easier. Acquired by Ashcom Technologies in 2002, MaintiMizer evolved with the times, adding mobile device support, SQL database technology, and SaaS-based offerings. It’s been a trusted tool for maintenance professionals ever since.

Connect manufacturing data with improved uptime and ROI

For maintenance managers and reliability engineers, the integration of live machine data with maintenance workflows is a meaningful shift. Instead of reacting to failures after the fact, teams can tie service requests directly to changing conditions on the shop floor in real time. That means faster response, better documentation, and a clearer feedback loop between what machines are doing and what the maintenance team needs to act on.

For manufacturing leaders and operations managers, the unified Celsus platform creates new visibility across areas that have historically been hard to connect: machine utilization, downtime root causes, maintenance costs, and the ROI of service activities. When your CMMS and your machine monitoring system are sharing data, the picture you get is far more complete and actionable.

“By bringing together a proven solution for maintenance scheduling, execution, and documentation with the live data feed of a comprehensive machine monitoring system, our customers will be able to more quickly tie service requests to changing conditions on the shop floor,” said Richard Hefner, longtime leader of FactoryWiz and now CEO of Celsus Software. He added that the unified platform also opens the door for automation and AI development to benefit customers further.

Providing data visibility from Day One

One of the practical advantages of combining two mature products, rather than building from scratch, is that customers don’t have to wait for features to catch up. Both FactoryWiz and MaintiMizer arrive at Celsus with experienced development teams and deep feature sets already in place.

“Building a new product in this space would have taken many years to get right,” Hefner noted. “Instead, we bring mature products with experienced teams together to give our customers very full functionality on day one.”

Celsus Software is headquartered in Corvallis, OR, with engineering and other talent distributed across the country. Read the press release and learn more about Celsus Software at celsussoftware.com.
